Jefferson Area CHiP Receives $10,000 Grant from the Bama Works Fund of Dave Matthews Band through CACF.

Jefferson Area CHiP  has received a $10,000 grant from the Bama Works Fund of Dave Matthews Band through CACF.  The Bama Works grant will fund outreach to pregnant and parenting teens in Louisa and Fluvanna Counties.  Based on CHiP's successful Parenteen program in Charlottesville and Albemarle,  the teen outreach to Louisa and Fluvanna will include working with both of the county high schools to identify pregnant and parenting teens, provide home visiting to these families and offer parenting classes and other group activities during the school day.   By supporting teens to continue their education, receive proper prenatal care, delay pregnancies and by helping them to understand the important role they play in their child’s life, we encourage positive outcomes for the teens and  for the health and well-being of their infants.

We extend a sincere thank you to the Bama Works Fund and to CACF for their generous support of CHiP’s Parenteen program and for their longstanding support of nonprofits in our community.
