Text Box: Have any man wondered
What a mother goes through
When rising a child by herself?
Do they care how many times their children sit in the window?
Waiting, hoping and wanting for their father
To come through the door just to see them.
Mothers with a soft cry

I could remember when I was a kid
That we didn’t have much money.
My mother was always trying to put her pennies together
Just so we could have eggs, bread,
And maybe some hot dogs for the week.
Mothers with a soft cry

Then you see the mother who has two kids
And the babies father in jail for robbery.
He was robbing people because the high cost of living
Has gone up so much and no one wants to help,
Cause all they see is a thug.
Now this mother has tell his kids
Why their father won’t be around for some years.
Mothers with a soft cry

How about the mother who has six kids on welfare,
No man wants to step up and help her with these kids.
People like to sit there and talk about how she is unmarried
With different fathers to each one of her kids.
If there was a husband then maybe people wouldn’t talk.
Mothers with a soft cry

There is one mother who I couldn’t forget about
The mother who is rising a child with cerebral palsy.
She is doing it by herself with some help from her mother
Who does all she can with time she has at the end of the day.

Her child at this time won’t walk, talk
And his father doesn’t care to be in his life.
He thinks by paying only 200.00 dollars a month in child supports
That he has done his part.

But this child’s mother is always the one
Who holds his hands in the hospital when there is an emergency.
This child gets more love than his father thinks he needs.
At times the mother hurts because
She wishes she could do more for her child who is very disable.
